Inside the marketing mix, the price became the most important determinant for the success of the products. Neither the product performance nor advertisement or smart distribution are reaching this level of importance for the success. The “right price” is the critically point – also regarding to market access and reimbursement.
The MDS-concept can be used for every pharmaceutical product. For the specific case of orphan drugs we have developed an adjusted method to meet the special requirements and conditions. Furthermore, the MDP-concept can be used for medical devices or innovative diagnostics as gene-expression-tests to support the pricing-decision.
